Pepsico-Emblem.png

Even a big company has to focus on the small things

Role

I was a Jr. Account Executive for two projects for Pepsi - one being a trade show, and the other supporting updates in their backend system.

Background

1. PepsiCo had a tradeshow they wanted to hold virtually (something that only a few companies had attempted at the time due to COVID)

2. Manual updates on their backend system for changes and additions of new products available for B2B would be my agency's responsibility.

The Ask

1. Help manage and kickoff a virtual tradeshow, as well as analyze the results.

2. Upload and change content on their consumer facing site in a timely manner.

Strategy

1. We put together a detailed plan of everything that goes into a tradeshow and how we could make it virtual. We then had to have several meetings with 3rd party vendors to ensure website analytics would be tracked, the timing of real-time speakers, and all content would be available for download and advertising through emails about the upcoming show.

2. Understanding the SOP document and staying up to date with the recent changes.

Deliverables

1. A virtual tradeshow that left the client comfortable and confident in my agency's abilities. You can view the virtual page here: https://sodastreamproshow.com/

2. Being able to make updates in Pepsi's backend system that accurately reflected on the live site whenever the client had a need.

1. There are a lot of small things that you have to think about during any kind of project. It is never as simple as going from point A to point Z, there are usually 24 other points you have to go through to get to the final product.

2. Sometimes you just have to try anything and everything. Backend systems are awesome when they work, but a pain when they don't. Having the resilience and determination to keep moving forward when things don't work will not only help you learn, but will keep the client happy.
