ChloË's Craft Home

Ever since I was younger, I've loved doing crafts and creating art. I've done pretty much every art or craft under the sun...I'm not kidding. In case you think I'm not serious, I'm going to list them out:

  1. Acrylic paint (a very common expression of art)

  2. Batiking (a process of using wax and dye to make a patterned fabric)

  3. Beaded bracelets, rings, bobby pins (there's nothing that can't be beaded)

  4. Crochet (picked this one up 3 years ago from my Grammy)

  5. Cross stitching (a newer craft in my repertoire

  6. Embroidery (clothes, canvas, post cards, you name it and I've embroidered it)

  7. Feather headbands (we all remember when those were big

  8. Graphite (a classic, really)

  9. Oil paint (muchhh different than acrylic, but still very cool)

  10. Pastel (not my favorite, but the colors are amazing!)

  11. Photography (I'm not a pro, but I can edit like nobody's business)

  12. Sewing (it's truly a lost art, this skill has saved me on many occasions)

  13. Stamping (a good challenge because you have to think backwards)

  14. Watercolor (I have much to learn about how there are no mistakes)

  15. Wood burning (gives off a nice, rustic smell...what's not to love)

As you can see, my love for creation is large and is continuing to grow every day, which is wonderful, but then I have tons of projects I don't know what to do with. My parents have always told me that I should sell what I create, but I never felt like anyone would want something that I made.

One of my resolutions for this year was to do something out of my comfort zone, and "Chloe's Craft Home" was born! At the moment, I am mainly selling things that I have crocheted, but I have some watercolor and wood burning pieces that are in the works. Since starting, I have sold 23 items through Etsy and at a market fair where I had my own pop-up booth. Doing this has helped me learn more about channel distribution (on a very small level), organization, and how to advertise/market products. Even though I've learned a lot through this process, I am still learning, and I am excited to continue to grow my side hustle.
