How do religious experiences in your teens affect you in your early adulthood?

Role

I was a member of one of four teams on this project, as well as my section's team lead. I managed my team in making sure that our data analysis was of a quality caliber and that it was ordered so that it flowed. Along with editing, I was in charge of conducting several in-depth one-on-one interviews to gain insights for this project. I also put together the final deck that was used to present our findings to the organization.

Background

The ask

Seminaries and Institutes of Religion came to the BYU AdLab for help in understand what are the next steps they should take with their target market.

Seminaries and Institutes of Religion provides weekday religious education for youth and young adults. They wanted insights into who their target market is, and some recommendations they should implement in the future.

strategy

We conducted qualitative data through one-on-one interviews and then analyzed that data. We looked both vertically and horizontally through the target market's journey so that we could understand who those individuals are and what they need.

deliverables

We put together a book for Seminaries and Institutes of Religion with an overview of our research findings. We gave them insights we found, along with recommendations that they could implement for their target market in the future.

What I learned

1. I learned a lot about being willing to do more than what was originally required. Just because a team member can't complete something, doesn't mean the client doesn't want it completed...sometimes you have to step up and do it yourself.

2. I don't have to do everything alone. I have team members for a reason, and each person is great at something. Recognizing what those are will make those team members more involved and motivated in the process.
